Our Mission
Fields of Grace Ministries exists to provide a safe retreat for women with trauma and to care for the caregiver. We accomplish our mission by partnering with local organizations and individuals in the Columbus area (whom we refer to as Grace Guests) and providing therapeutic classes & events, as well as weekend retreats to include a therapist at the house.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Farm Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of our horticulture and animal husbandry operations. This hands-on leadership role requires a dedicated and passionate individual who thrives in outdoor environments and enjoys both working the land and engaging with the community. This person will be responsible for managing day-to-day farm tasks while also providing a warm, knowledgeable presence during farm tours, U-Pick events, and customer-facing activities throughout the week.
Qualifications
Experience in farming, horticulture, agriculture, or other outdoor, hands-on work is preferred.
A willingness to learn and grow in the areas of flower farming and land stewardship is essential.
Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to self-manage and work independently or with a small team.
Physical stamina and willingness to work in all weather conditions.
Customer service experience and a heart for community engagement.
Having a heart for our mission, and the capacity and willingness to serve others well
Positive, can-do attitude with the willingness to be a team player
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work without close supervision
Well-developed organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet shifting deadlines
Ability to communicate confidently and constructively
Key Responsibilities
Farm Operations & Crop Management
Oversee planting, harvesting, and processing of cut flowers in alignment with seasonal growing plans.
Develop and execute comprehensive growing schedules and strategies.
Maintain the farm’s aesthetic and functionality to keep it 100% visitor-ready.
Monitor soil health, pest management, and irrigation systems.
Perform regular maintenance of farm structures, tools, and equipment.
Animal Care
Ensure animals are fed, healthy, and housed in clean, safe environments.
Oversee or assist in basic animal husbandry practices as needed.
Leadership & Administration
Train and manage farm workers or volunteers, ensuring clear communication and task delegation.
Maintain accurate financial and operational records, including crop yield, supply inventory, and budgets.
Purchase necessary supplies (e.g. seeds, feed, tools) and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Ensure all farming operations are safe, sustainable, and compliant with health regulations.
Customer-Facing & Community Engagement
Lead educational and experiential farm tours for visitors and groups as needed.
Host and facilitate U-Pick flower events and customer visits during weekdays as needed.
Serve as a warm and informative representative of the farm during on-site events.
Collaborate with the programming team to ensure the farm supports healing and wellness events.
Operations
Monitors and fulfills incoming orders as needed
Maintains inventory of horticultural and animal husbandry supplies
Final Notes
This person will work closely with the Founder and Executive Director, Brianne Womack. While most of the work will be accomplished during a normal business week, there will be possible evening and weekend duties due to the nature of our events. The goal of this position is to effectively grow the foundation and mission of Fields of Grace Ministries.
